Fear is Just an Illusion: My Journey To Purpose

Fear is just an illusion!

This profound realization has shaped my life's work and purpose. I'm truly honored that my friend Dr. Samuel Lee highlighted my story in this video.

Swipe through the memories of my first Halloween around 5. A man in a spooky full-head rubber mask terrified me—until he revealed a warm, smiling face beneath. That moment taught me a powerful lesson: fear isn’t real. It’s a construct of our minds, a veil that can be lifted to reveal a different reality.

Growing up, I battled terrible nightmares and a crippling fear of the dark. Yet, Halloween became my catalyst for change. It allowed me to embrace and transform fear, whether through dressing up or decorating our home. Halloween wasn't just a holiday; it was a revelation that fear could be fun, even empowering.

As I grew older, my fascination with fear led me to partner with the House Of Torment in its second year. We worked together to build a lasting brand in the Austin market. Later, I founded FearWorm, an ad agency dedicated to marketing haunted attractions nationwide. Through these experiences, I realized I could make a real difference by helping others confront their fears in a controlled, entertaining environment.

In 2022, amidst a divorce and severe burnout, I stepped away from FearWorm. By the end of 2023, I felt a strong call to return, realizing my work in demystifying fear wasn’t done yet. That led to the birth of 5TRYBE Media, my solo venture supporting haunted houses and businesses across the board. I felt compelled to extend my mission beyond the realm of haunted attractions to show everyone that fear is an illusion.

I’m on a mission to reveal the truth about fear—not real—and help others find joy and authenticity beyond their fears. At 5TRYBE Media, I strive to create experiences and campaigns that challenge people to look beyond their fears and see the beauty and potential on the other side.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. Let's lift the veil together, one fear at a time.

With gratitude,

Patrick
